Martlets invited local schools and colleges to be part of the exciting Snowdogs by the Sea art event by offering them the opportunity to buy and decorate a Snow pup.
Martlets did this as they were inspired by the successful trails in Birmingham, Bristol, London and Norwich where the schools involved found them to be an innovative way to meet their educational targets as well as a wonderful way to become more involved with a local charity. The much-loved story of the Snowman and the Snowdog is one that resonates with people of all ages. It explores important themes of love, loss and hope; a story we tell at Martlets every day.
Over 19 schools have chosen to participate in the programme, taking their pupils on a fulfilling journey of discovery and learning using their Snow pup sculpture as an artist’s canvas for discussion, debate, research and application.
The Snow puppies were on display at the following locations until December 2016, when they were returned to their Schools:
